For as long as he can remember, he's always traveled with his aunt across the wasteland.
He's ran into many caravans, and been in many settlements, where he's heard countless stories from the people around him.
All he's known is to follow wherever his aunt went. He wasn't taught how to survive on his own, unfortunately, but he's a quick learner and isn't deterred when he's knocked down.
When hearing about the children of atom, he struggled to understand their beliefs, but his aunt on the other hand- seemed to understand it completely. In a world where death can come knocking at any minute, she found safety in their close community.
his aunt was quickly conditioned, and whole heartedly believed in "atom", Francis on the other hand- doubted it all. He's heard stories before, he was warned about the fanatics. But he couldn't leave his aunt behind, and couldn't convince her to leave. so he stayed, and did what he could to not be deemed a heretic.
His aunt left on a mission to convert more people, but unfortunately did not return. Francis, having no reason to stay anymore, couldn't stand to see people sacrificed, and couldn't stomach the radiation anymore.
So he stole the gun of the high priest, and shot them before they could sacrifice another innocent victim to atom. It was no secret anymore, He doubted their beliefs.
Knowing what they do to heretics, he ran as fast as his thin legs could carry him. He was sickly from the radiation, but his adrenaline kept him going.
He found himself being helped by a kind woman, who asked for his help in return, and he'll do anything to repay that kindness.

After losing his foot while serving under the king as a navy officer, Charles joined piracy as he believes it'll treat him less like a wooden pawn and more like a living being.
He's got a lot of stories, though he only tells the ones worth telling. While he's no liar, he likes to hide the truth under a veil of charisma.
After the murder of his lover, Isaac, he finds himself reflecting on his own impulsive actions. where his many mistakes make him realize what kind of man he wants to be.
He's obsessive, and thinks he can do no wrong.
Anything, or anyone, who challenges this belief, is met with his deflective nature.
He soon finds himself encountering the man who slaughtered the only person he felt truly understood him, but when he stares into his eyes, all he can see is himself.
Pearl

Born in a working-class family, to a father and mother desperate to appeal to the upper class.
She was never one to fit-in with those who believe she should be "seen, not heard", she embraced the womanhood that often gets her staring down the barrel of a gun.
Some love her loud and intense behavior, others hate it so much that they're willing to do anything they can to get rid of it.
She married staghorn impulsively to help her family's debts, but found herself in a situation where only violence can get her out of it.
thankfully, violence is something she'll soon learn to embrace with open arms.
Marjani

The younger sister of Isaac, she was born and raised on the deck of a ship.
She finds comfort in the vast emptiness of the sea, as its the only home she's ever known.
She's a natural leader, though due to her small size and unassuming face, people often overlook her. That being said, it often leaves a shocked expression on everyone's faces when she throws a punch. She's the poster-child of making a good impression. She's a strategist, and her priority is keeping those she values alive.
Though, she often finds herself caring more about them, then they care about her.
Sooner rather than later, she'll find herself making friends with unexpecting individuals.
Isaac
age: late 20s

occupation: 1st mate
The older brother of Marjani, He joined piracy in the hopes of being able to provide safe living for his younger sister.
He's a family man at heart, deep down all he wants is a comfortable life, and he's willing to take down anyone who stands in the way of that.
He's a bit nosey, and this interest in other people's affairs has gotten him in hot water.
He observes the corruption of his captain, Staghorn, and this observation inspires him to rally the crew and stage a mutiny.
Though he underestimates the old man, and that underestimate is going to cost him his life.

occupation: navy captain (formerly pirate captain)
After surviving a mutiny, he gets taken in by the navy to betray the very men offering him a free life.
He believes he's worked hard enough in this life for those to give up their lives to him, but since he's had everything he's had taken from him before, his need to keep what he has now is overwhelming.
He's murdered, manipulated, and shunned anyone who challenges his beliefs.
While his own history is stained with the blood of those who want to hold him accountable, he tries to hide this, though his excuses will land him nowhere but decaying on the floor. where his death will be cheered by his enemies, and his corpse will be spat on by his friends.
John

occupation: navy officer, navy spy
John found himself in a tricky situation. Where he's realizing he has as much value as a lamb near a slaughterhouse when working for the navy.
He's conflicted, as he holds moral values high. But seeing how his Navy captain, Staghorn, treats his wife, Pearl, he starts holding those same values over the people around him.
He becomes close to pearl, and does his best in getting her out of the abusive relationship she's been roped into.
Realizing theres no use in devoting himself into protecting the country he signed his rights away to, he decides to devote his life into protecting pearl.
But he cant bring himself to stoop so low as to work as a pirate.
while at sea, He feels responsible for being complicit in the murder of innocent lives, so he finds himself terrified of facing judgement.
But he's now in a situation where his judgement may not come from those around him, but the people who died before him.
